Product Guru Supplier Focus – Into the World of Goats of the Gorge

 

Goats of the Gorge is a skincare brand formulated for people with sensitive and healthy Skin. Their products are not tested on animals, are palm-free & contain no harsh chemicals. Goat milk contains many beneficial nutrients including vitamin A which helps to break down dead skin cells, when blended with natural oils helps moisturize and rejuvenate the skin, also helps to maintain healthy skin. We spoke to Sales Director Ricky King about what it's like to run the business! 

Tell us more about your company. 

We were formed in the 13th of June, 2020 and we're currently based in Chew Stoke, Somerset. Goats of the Gorge produces Goats Milk Skin Care & other natural cosmetics! We work with over 150 independent retailers at the moment, including garden centres, farm shops, pharmacies, tourist attractions, and more. We also work with a variety of retailers including Superdrug Marketplace, Cotswold Fayre, Big Green Smile, etc. 

Is there a specific product you've particularly proud of and why?

Our Goats milk skin care range has helped so many people across the Globe with sensitive skin, that's because Goats milk contains high levels of Vitamin A and lactic acid found beneficial in breaking down dead skin cells and rejuvenating. We are proud to be certified cruelty-free. Our products are palm oil free and contain no water.

What do you most enjoy about running your business? 

We love hearing testimonials from customers of the impact our products have had on their day-to-day life! We enjoy Implementing more ways to be sustainable and helping our planet as much as possible. Our products are made by hand which means we don't use big machinery this allows us to keep our carbon footprint very low. 

For the founder/face of the brand - when you’re not working, what do you enjoy doing? 

I enjoy travelling and walking along nature coastlines. Helping in the community and offering free talks as a registered WI Guest speaker, this contains a PowerPoint presentation and talk about brief goat keeping experience and how the brand was born.


What do you think of the free Product Guru platform? What encouraged you to join? 

We decided to list our natural skin care on the Product Guru platform after hearing so many great things about how companies managed to get their brands infront of main buyers for big high street retailers, this can often be quite difficult for new products in the UK. We attended many events, from pop up shops to the Huddle events. We would encourage anybody who believes in their brand to get involved, great opportunity to meet and network with people in the same industry as you. We had the pleasure of meeting some fantastic other brands and buyers.
