GRAIN & BOWL makes award winning, premium gourmet British granola with only the finest ingredients. Driven by free from but led by flavour, their granola is the definition of permissible indulgence. Using only natural ingredients, they have 3 SKUS, each in 300g 100% recyclable pouches. We spoke to founder Alexia to learn about their brand, products, and running their business.
When was your company formed? Where are you based? What do youproduce?
I launched GRAIN & BOWL in 2016 when working full time in Finance. I started by baking overnight in a friends’ pub kitchen in King’s Cross London, launching into Fortnum & Mason and have recently scaled up to bring GRAIN & BOWL to a wider audience. El Clásico is our salty sweet Maple’n’Pecan flavour, The Exotic One is our Great Taste Award Winning Cardamom Spice Granola and The Indulgent One is our new Choc Orange flavour. All flavours are high in fibre, plant based and gluten free. Our Maple’n’Pecan and Cardamom Spice are also refined sugar free.
How many people work for the business?
Myself and my manufacturing team I have recently onboarded.

Independents, online and hopefully more to announce soon!
Is there a specific product you're particularly proud of and why?
Our Award Winning Cardamom Spice Granola. There really is nothing else like it on the market it’s the ultimate warming spiced blend and has quite a cult following. We have one client alone ordering 12 a month! I am very proud when people that say ‘they don’t like cardamom’ get hooked on our Cardamom Spice Granola.
What do you most enjoy about running your business?
The sense of achievement you get when retailers and clients give you great feedback. Also, the control you have over your own life. Its not easy working for yourself but it’s absolutely worth it!
When you’re not working, what do you enjoy doing?
I spend time with the people I love most and watch a lot of Real Housewives franchise on TV!
What do you think of the free Product Guru platform? What encouraged you to join?
I think it’s brilliant. To have the opportunity to present your products directly to buyers is truly priceless. That opportunity is what encouraged me to join – as well as great feedback from other people in the industry.
