Product Guru Supplier Focus – Into the World of Kear Natural

When was your company formed? Where are you based? What do you produce?

Kear is the result of thorough research and planning for almost two years. Initially, we began searching history books looking for formulations - or skin treatments as ancient Greeks called them. After finalising the research, we tested them in our labs to check their consistency and product life while looking for the most suitable packaging. Our chemists suggested the ones that ended up part of Kear's product range.

The company was formed in Q4 2018, with offices based in Switzerland and manufacturing exclusively in Greece. Kear product range includes face and body balms, body oils, lip balms and herbal soaps. We are proud to claim that our products are all-natural, without any water, so there is no use for chemical preservatives to add to their shelf life. Not to forget that although our formulas originated in the past, they are still surprisingly contemporary, as they check all present beauty trends. Such as multipurpose, gender neutral and inclusive of all skin tones/colours and skin types. Sustainable, ethical, locally produced and cruelty-free.

How many people work for the business?

Our team consists of four dedicated partners who have divided the tasks and work seamlessly together because they share the same vision.

Who do you sell to?

We sell worldwide, both B2B and B2C. Our target customers are natural skincare consumers, especially the ones who look into the ingredient list before purchasing, as they are aware of the harm chemicals do to their health. Organic/Natural products stores, retail stores that sell specially curated niche skincare, boutique and 5* hotels, spas. As Kear product range covers many sectors of the natural skincare market, we can serve many different customers. We also work with sales representatives and distributors in various countries.

Is there a specific product you're particularly proud of and why?

We have created a small, conscious line of skin care products, and we are proud of them all. We are proud to have created the first ever beeswax balm in liquid form; our Kear body oils. Rich in essential oils and botanicals, to bring back lost moisture, combat irritation from dryness, bruises and pains, multi-use, and fit for all genders, skin tones and skin types. Due to their waterless, super concentrated texture, they are long-lasting, adding to their eco-friendly nature. Both have received numerous awards, alongside the other products we produce.

What do you most enjoy about running your business?

The fact that it introduces a much different side of Greece, the side of beauty and wellness. Combining this with the fact that Kear products are versatile and therefore address many sectors of the market, you have a result that never ceases to keep us alert and energetic.

For the founder/face of the brand - when you’re not working, what do you enjoy doing?

Take short getaways to areas of Greece still unspoiled, be it an island or the mountains. Greece is a multi-faced land with beautiful places still to be discovered. If it is difficult to get away, a yoga retreat nearby, a walk in the nearest forest, or a glass of Greek wine with friends on the veranda is just an escape.

What do you think of the free Product Guru platform? What encouraged you to join?

It is straightforward to use, and the fact that it addresses many sectors of the industry, well... it makes it even more interesting. We were introduced to Product Guru platform by our sales rep in the U.K., who actually requested to use it. I hope to reach as many retailers as possible through the POP Store!
